It’s not everyday that you get to see your favorite artists in one place, is it? Well, this was the case with the 2nd edition of the Ongea Music Summit that took place at the Sarit Center from February 16-19th, 2017.

With over 30 showcase performances, 8 industry discussions, and over 50 exhibition stands, this was truly a regional event that will likely continue to attract more acts from across the region and beyond.

Among the attendees were popular Kenya DJs and music stakeholders as they discussed the business of music in terms of digital distribution, event performances, and broadcasting.

Among the exhibitors were the ASUS computer company which showcased their latest machines with the SonicMaster, built just for music and music artists. Karaoke Kapital was also on hand to help artists translate their music into karaoke.

What stole the show though were the performances from popular and upcoming artists. Artists from Congo, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania entertained the attendees with their melodious voices and traditional instrumentals.

Some of the artists who got the crowds on their feet included Disco Vumbi, Buula, Hart_the_Band, and PHY.

The event no doubt benefited artists and music lovers by helping them better understand the business of music and how far the industry has come.
