Life is changing and Kenyans need to come with ways that can merit the negative implications which come with technology and industrial evolution. The natural resources are at risk because of pollution and other human activities that grows due to the high need of resources. The Kenyan Lakes are on the edge when it comes to destruction and pollution. And Lake Victoria is a good example of a lake that’s vulnerable to exploitation and hard environmental happenings.
A group of contemporary dancers are working on a dance piece that narrates a story about the environmental degradation in Lake Victoria. Dozze Ongeri, the director of the masterpiece is looking forward to staging the dance in renowned platforms that can expose people to the challenges facing one of the biggest lakes in Africa. The dance, under the title Stories of a dead Lake is a masterpiece that cuts and describes the pieces of destruction on the lake.
The growth of Water Hyacinth on Victoria is one of the issues that are illustrated by the dancers. They use dance moves and swift choreographed stories to narrate ways in which fishermen and Kenyans living around the lake are affected. The dance is structured to describe a ritual journey of the challenges and in the solutions that can be implemented in order to rescue the lake.
